Hydrogen (H2) Energy

Safety and control for a growing industry

United Electric Controls (UE) has been providing pressure, flow, and temperature switches and transmitters for various applications in the H2 industry. We are supporting OEM’s building compressors, electrolyzers, fill stations, and storage units, leveraging our full portfolio from UE, Precisions Sensors (PSI), and Applied Sensor Technologies (AST). Our focus is on reliability, customization, and fast delivery to meet the industry’s rapidly growing needs.

Compressors and fill stations

UE provides temperature control to compressors, heat exchanges and various utilities for fill stations. We have customized pressure and temperature switches for customers requiring control or safety shutdown options.

Applications
  • Compressor
  • Utilities for nitrogen (N2) inerting
  • Heat exchangers
  • Chillers
  • CDA utility
  • Exhaust monitoring

Electrolyzers

UE provides a wide range of pressure switches in different materials, including 316LSS to meet the needs in alkaline electrolyzers while reducing maintenance concerns where potassium hydroxide (KOH) is present. In supporting applications, we provide temperature, pressure and flow transmitters and switches for both polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) and alkaline electrolyzers.

Applications
  • Compressor
  • Utilities for nitrogen (N2) inerting
  • Lye recovery
  • H2 cooling
  • Water feed
  • Thermal control
  • H2 separator
  • Water to electrolyzer
