One Series Electronic Pressure and Temperature Switches Now Offers Users Choice of AC or DC Power
Watertown, MA - United Electric Controls Company is proud to release it's latest enhancement to the One Series Electronic Switch Platform, an integral 115 VAC power supply, making the One Series the newest and most complete technology to solve the challenge of monitoring critical pressure and temperature thresholds for alarming, shutdown and redundant control. The new enhancement means the One Series Electronic Switch can be utilized with either AC or DC powered circuits.
Priced at half the cost of a transmitter, the Class I, Division 2 approved One Series combines several monitoring functions traditionally performed separately by transmitters, switches and gages with just a single process connection.
The AC power module provides 115 VAC input/output through an integral AC power supply. This enables users to connect AC power and loads directly to the One Series. It also has both high voltage (AC) and low voltage (DC) terminal blocks. Dual conduit entries allow for separation of high and low voltage signals, making the One Series even easier to install and operate. The new AC power module is available on all One Series pressure and temperature products.
With an emphasis on reliability, the One Series is the first electronic switch to continuously monitor and communicate its own health and status. Both "I AM WORKING" and "I Have Switched" conditions are communicated locally by a visual indicator and remotely over a single low cost discrete connection. The product continuously reassures the operator that it will function properly when pressure thresholds are exceeded.
A digital display provides both a real time indication of process variable and a means for operator field adjustment of set point and deadband. The product communicates its health (I AM WORKING) and the state of the switch remotely over a standard two wire discrete digital connection, thereby saving the cost of an analog channel. If analog trending data is needed, an optional 4-20 mA output can be added. The device features fast switch response on either rising or falling pressure or temperature, and can handle ranges to 6,000 psi or 1000ºF. Set point and deadband are adjustable to cover the full operating range. The One Series employs solid state technology with no moving parts and is approved for use in Class I, Division 2 hazardous locations by UL for US and Canadian installations. Ruggedness, wide media compatibility and several mounting options combine to make the new device ideal for critical alarm and shutdown applications in harsh or hazardous environments.
Since 1931, United Electric Controls has been a leader in innovative Threshold Detection and Switching technology for process and allied industries. With corporate headquarters in Watertown, Massachusetts, UE has maintained ISO 9001 certification since 1994.
