The November 2005 issue of Hydrocarbon Processing magazine contains an article titled "Switch Strategies for the Hydrocarbon Industries" written by Wil Chin from ARC. The paper provides his view of electro-mechanical switches versus transmitters in process applications. The paper also provides an alternative to both technologies - digital switch technology (a.k.a. the One Series electronic switch).

Wil Chin goes on to name the One Series product specifically and writes about the virtues of plugged port technology, self-diagnostics and field programmability, particularly in safety system applications. UE has obtained permission to reprint this article.

The article is another example of how the concept of electronic switching and intelligent instrumentation is taking hold in the industries that UE serves. While UE is enjoying strong growth with the One Series product line, more and more engineers and technicians are acknowledging the benefits of electronic switching and specifying the One Series.
